Cozy Pumpkin Latte Recipe: A Taste of Autumn in Every Sip

As the crisp fall air settles in and the leaves begin to turn, nothing beats wrapping your hands around a warm, comforting mug of pumpkin latte. While this seasonal favorite is available at our Koffee Kult retail store in South Florida (please stop by and see us!), making it at home allows you to customize the flavors to your liking and enjoy it anytime you want. This homemade pumpkin latte recipe is super easy to make and it brings together the rich taste of espresso, creamy milk, and the beloved flavors of fall.

Ingredients You'll Need:

  • 1 cup milk (use any kind—dairy, almond, oat, or soy)
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree or pumpkin sauce
  • 1/2 cup of ice (if making cold coffee)
  • 1/4 cup brewed espresso (or 1/2 cup strong coffee)
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 teaspoon of crumbled graham cacker
  • 1-2 tablespoons sugar or sweetener (optional if using puree, adjust to taste)
  • Whipped cream (optional for topping)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (for garnish, optional)

Instructions:

1. Brew Your Coffee

Start by brewing your espresso coffee. If you do not have an espresso machine, a strong coffee will also suffice. If you're using strong coffee instead of espresso, use about 1/2 cup to keep the latte balanced in flavor.

2. Add the Pumpkin

While the coffee is brewing, add your favorite pumpkin puree or pumpkin sauce to your cup. If you're using a puree, add two tablespoons of sugar if you want a sweetener.

3. Froth the Milk

For that creamy, frothy texture, use a whisk, immersion blender, or milk frother to foam the milk mixture. If you don’t have a frother, whisking vigorously will do the trick. If you're making a cold latte, you will skip this step.

4. Assemble Your Latte

Pour the ice into your cup if you're making a cold latte. If not, obviously you 'll skip that part. Next, you will add in your brewed espresso or coffee. Finally, slowly pour in your milk or froth mixture. Stir gently to combine.

6. Top It Off

For the finishing touch, add one cinnamon stick and a generous sprinkle of crumbled graham cracker. If preferred, you may add a swirl of whipped cream on top. Sprinkle a dash of pumpkin pie spice to elevate the presentation and flavor.

7. Sip and Enjoy!

Your homemade pumpkin latte is ready! Cozy up with a book or enjoy it while gazing out at the autumn scenery.

Pro Tips:

  • Sweetness: Adjust the sugar to your liking. You can use maple syrup or honey for a natural sweetener.
  • Spice Level: If you love spice, add a little extra cinnamon or nutmeg.
  • Non-Dairy Option: Swap regular milk with almond, oat, or soy milk for a dairy-free version.

There you have it—a simple yet indulgent homemade pumpkin latte that brings all the cozy flavors of fall right to your kitchen. Whether you’re a pumpkin enthusiast or just craving something comforting, this latte will warm you from the inside out!
